“Merely by describing yourself as black you have started on a road towards emancipation, you have committed yourself to fight against all forces.” – Steve Biko

Dear Esteemed Visitor,

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to engage with my work.

I am Dr. Malusi Mncube, a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Johannesburg. This space is more than a digital hub; it is an open call to thinkers, activists, academics, civil society leaders, policymakers, students, and members of our Global Pan-African family, to connect, collaborate, and build.

My work sits at the crossroads of global political economy, Pan-Africanist thought, and the turbulent shifts currently reshaping our world order. From the unspeakable suffering in the DRC, Sudan, the Sahel, and Gaza, to the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a few, we are witnessing a crisis of global morality. Business as usual is no longer acceptable. What we need is bold, collective advocacy that uplifts all of humanity and challenges systems of domination,a shift from elite-led, top-down prescriptions to inclusive, grassroots-driven solutions rooted in justice and solidarity.

My research is guided by African philosophies such as Ubuntu and grounded in the urgency of Pan-Africanism.

I explore themes such as:

The transformative promise of Agenda 2063 and the African Union as a force for continental unity and global justice.
  • The future of African economies amid rapid technological change;
  • The role of law in shaping Africa’s response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution;
  • The impact of artificial intelligence on identity, sovereignty, and democracy;
  • The decolonization of education and knowledge production; and

Since beginning my academic journey at the University of Johannesburg in 2015, I have earned Honours, Master’s, and PhD degrees, with my doctoral work focusing on the intersection of technology, governance, and development in Africa.

I believe that by cultivating a dialogue and collaboration across our respective fields, we can generate meaningful insights and contribute to a more prosperous and equitable future for Africa.

This platform is an invitation to scholars, activists, artists, diplomats, educators, and dreamers let’s imagine and build a different world together. A world where Africa is not merely surviving, but thriving. A world of multipolarity, not monopoly. Of dignity, not domination. Of people, not profit.

If you see alignment in our visions, I welcome you to reach out. Whether for conversation, collaboration, or community,

I would be honoured to connect.

Sincerely,

Dr. Malusi Mncube
